Material Selection Assistance

Selecting the right material for your part may be the hardest "part" of your project. There are a zillion resins to choose from, with more new arrivals every day, making material selection more difficult than ever. Nevertheless, material selection is a crucial step in the success of your project. Klann Plastics is able to assist in this process; unfortunately, we don't have all the answers...but we work with people who do. Our primary supplier partners employ Polymer Application Engineers with many years of experience that can review your requirements and offer suggestions.

Resin selection can often be narrowed down rather quickly by zeroing in on those materials with the right properties for the customer's application. This evaluation process considers such factors as environment (indoor, outdoor, temperature, UV stability), chemical/moisture exposure, strength (impact, rigidity), appearance, UL flame-retardant, FDA/USDA/CSA agency requirements, etc.-ending up with a choice of maybe two to a handful.

Klann Plastics engineering will add value to your project through the use of a Design Check List  to insure that we consider all pertinent application information so as to provide accurate and meaningful suggestions on material alternatives. We can also provide material property data and can often obtain resin samples for testing.
